Execution of Omni-Channel Retailing Based on a Practical Order Fulfillment Policy

With the rapid development of retail industry and its transition to omni-channel, a critical challenge that how fulfill customer orders by choosing proper channels arises for retailers. In omni-channel retailing, customers can make purchase online or offline, are offered options home delivery collection at specified store, delivering immediately during an appointed time window, accepting split not. For effective execution retailing in such circumstance, this paper proposes intuitive order fulfillment policy, aiming gain lower service cost higher satisfaction, as reference retailers’ operation management. Via experimental analyses under various costs demand forecasts, their influences on channel selection policy performance illustrated. Furthermore, comparison performances with independent quantitatively reveals one crucial reason surge omni-channel.
